Supporting the Arboretum

For many years, flower trial gardens were grown next to Park Avenue near the future site of the Arboretum.

A conservatory is included in the master plan for the H. O. Smith Botanic Gardens.

Supporting the Arboretum

There are many ways to contribute to the Arboretum's development. If you have enjoyed learning about the Arboretum and would like to be involved in its growth, please consider the options described below.

DIRECT DONATIONS

Become a Friend of the Arboretum.
Sponsor a commemorative tree in the Arboretum.
Sponsor a bench in the Arboretum.
Fund a naming opportunity. Gifts are especially needed to underwrite construction of the major elements of the H. O. Smith Botanic Gardens.

You can make a direct donation in a number of ways. If you use any of the options below, please be sure to identify "The Arboretum at Penn State" in the space provided for designating the purpose of the gift.

Downloading and completing a gift response form that would accompany your check.
Making a donation online with a credit card.
Contributing on a regular basis through electronic funds transfer.
Donating through payroll deduction if you are employed at Penn State.

Demonstration gardens such as these will be used to teach students and to show Arboretum guests the recommended varieties of vegetables, fruit, and flowers for home landscapes.

Volunteer to assist in Arboretum activities.

Ask to be notified as opportunities for volunteering are identified in the gardens and woodlands of the Arboretum.

Ask us to make a presentation to your group or organization.
Notify us if you are willing to display one of our posters at events held by your group, organization, or business.
