For many years, flower trial gardens were grown next to Park Avenue near the future site of the Arboretum.

 

 

 

 

A conservatory is included in the master plan for the H. O. Smith Botanic Gardens.


Supporting the Arboretum

If you have enjoyed learning about the Arboretum and would like to be involved in its growth, please consider the following options:

Donate to the Arboretum.

The Arboretum is relying on the generosity of private donors to fund its development.

Gifts are especially needed to underwrite construction of the major elements of the H. O. Smith Botanic Gardens.

Participate in design discussions.

  • Ask to be placed on our mailing list.
  • You will be notified about meetings and events as we plan and develop the Arboretum, and you will be placed on the mailing list for our newsletter.

Demonstration gardens such as these will be used to teach students and to show Arboretum guests the recommended varieties of vegetables, fruit, and flowers for home landscapes.
